Polemic- God- in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR (VOA-islam.com) - Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Najib Tun Razak yesterday menyerukaan Sunday to Muslims to be calm and do not heat up the resolution of the High Court for accepting the appeal of the Catholic Herald newspaper to use the word "Allah" in its publication.


Prime Minister, said the government was aware that the issue is sensitive and touching the feelings of Muslims in that country and therefore the government will handle this problem as quickly as possible.

"The government is very aware and concerned about the various reactions in received after the decision of the High Court recently."

"This issue is very sensitive and touching the feelings of Muslims, we need to relax now and let the issue be resolved through the courts," he told reporters after deliver excellence awards to students Low School Achievement Test (UPSR) in the Parliamentary Constituency Week in Malaysia.

As known, an appeal can be made on the high court's decision to the Court of Appeal and Federal Court, he said when asked to respond to the various reactions to the High Court's decision Thursday to receive the Catholic Weekly Daily Herald for using the word "Allah" in its publication.

Najib said the Ministry of the Interior will submit an appeal to the Court of Appeal.

In addition, the Prime Minister will also inform your lordship Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin Court on the appeal.

"They, (the Ministry of Home Affairs) will make an appeal and I will inform your lordship Court and if he wishes he would provide guidance and Ruler of the Board, he said.

Najib said the resolution of this issue is very sensitive and need to be done denagan wise.

He also hoped that this problem will not be more complicated with the demonstration, petition and memorandum regarding this issue.

.. Because of this sensitive issue, we let the government handle the issue through an appeal .
